Correct !!
Estate C has plenty of house sparrows. It is the Watling Estate, a huge sprawling district of traditional houses, nearly all with gardens front and back. Privet hedges were everywhere until the right to buy policy was introduced. As with Estate B, all types of garden birds are seen, while large flocks of starling 300+ and seagulls are on the constant lookout for food. There are many cats kept across the whole estate by the residents, and crows and magpies are much in evidence. I even saw a dead hedgehog earlier this year.
House sparrows are heard virtually everywhere and large noisy flocks regularly congregate in trees, hedges and occasionally on flat roofs to bath in water. Many local residents have little conception of sparrow loss, as there seems to have been no reduction in certain unchanged areas.
